ENCOUNTER OF CULTURES

Call for Papers 

We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, is organising the Twelfth International Interdisciplinary Symposium ENCOUNTER OF CULTURES which is to be held on 1 December 2022 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. As always, the aim of this Symposium is to gather scholars and professionals from various areas of social sciences and humanities from the country and abroad, to encourage and promote intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue and to develop an international network of scholars. This would be achieved through presenting and discussing the results of interdisciplinary research in social sciences and humanities. Since such research requires taking into account different (social and political, psychological, cultural, etc.) contexts, the topics of the Symposium include the following:

• Relations between Individuals and Groups in Cultural Contexts;
• Forming Individuals and Groups within a Culture (Identity, Interculturalism and Multiculturalism);
• Relations between the Culture and the Social Systems (Education, Creativity, Media);
• Language and Literature as Culture Phenomena;
• Local and Global in the Culture;
• Information and Communication Technologies in Humanities and Social Sciences;
• History and Culture – Contexts and Intertwining;
• Semantics, Culture and Cognition;
• Culture, the Individual, Society;
• Cultural Contexts in Foreign Language Teaching;
• Social Work and Social Policy.

The application form for the Symposium is available here. The deadline for application is 1 August 2022. The notice of acceptance will be sent to the authors no later than 15 September 2022.

We welcome the proposals from the following areas of study: language and literature, history, psychology, pedagogy, philosophy, sociology, social work, cultural studies, media studies and communication studies.
